There is no doubt among those who have driven a Land Rover that it is a great vehicle. They are roomy, durable, and great for off-road adventure seekers. Chicago Land Rover LR4 is new and has much to offer!

One area this vehicle offers an upgrade in is the mechanics under the hood. The engine is a V8 power, 5.0 liters that is similar to the force behind most Jaguars. The engine can be warmed quicker by using a reverse-direction cooling system. The new V8 engine also features coated oil-pump bits and a lighter viscosity synthetic lubricant. These Chicago Land Rover LR4 attributes make for fewer emissions and better gas mileage- Not bad!

Also, I was very surprised to find out that the LR4 can accelerate as fast as it does. It can go from 0 to 60 MPH in just under 8 seconds. That is really good, considering that it weighs over 2,000 pounds. Needless to say, I had a great time driving around on the open roads!!

Another thing that I noticed on the new LR4 versus the used Land Rover Chicago is the front grille. It has been raised a few inches. Also, the SUV’s aerodynamics have been improved due to the front bumper. It pushes air around the front wheels. Furthermore, the headlights and taillights now contain LED’s. These types of lights are the future of more expensive vehicles. LED’s stand for Light Emitting Diodes ( I didn’t know this, and assume most people don’t either!). These lights give better lighting overall, last longer, and react quicker than the standard tail and head lights used in most conventional cars. Who can argue with a car that gives better lighting? Sounds safe to me!

I hope this makes you rush out to your Chicago Land Rover dealer today to check out this great new vehicle!

Football. The American sport. The American dream. But what’s the best part about going to a football game? Some would say the comradary, some would say the energy, but many would say the tailgating. There’s nothing quite like heading to a football game with a trunk full of coolers fully intent on some pre-game friendship and delicious finger foods. But if you’re going to properly execute tailgating the way it should be executed, you’ll need the ultimate tailgating vehicle. Sure an RV is great (if you want to live in the parking lot), but most of us want our action to start and stop in a standard football day. So what solutions are there for a, dare we say, classy football tailgating experience? Well, Forbes asked the same question and came up with a list of the top 10 tailgating vehicles for 2009. And wouldn’t you know it? The Land Rover LR3 landed itself a nice, warm spot on that list.

But if you’ve never visited your local Chicago Land Rover LR3 dealer, than you don’t know the full advantages this SUV can provide to your overall tailgating experience. To start with, it actually has a tailgate. So you wouldn’t figuratively be “tailgating” you would actually be tailgating. Also, with the more-than-generous cargo space you’ll be heavily equipped to provide a hefty amount of cooler material to your party.

Didn’t get tickets to the game? With the premium sound system, you’ll feel like you’re throwing bags at the 50 yard line. You can even kick up the bass beforehand and let the party come to you. Just driving a brand-new LR3 onto the parking lot will warrant some attention, but with the slew of luxury features available you’ll be a guaranteed hit.

So why wait? With the football season in full steam, now is the time to head to your Land Rover Dealer in Chicago and get in a brand new Land Rover LR3. The fans demand it.

So now that there is all of this news buzzing around about the Chicago Land Rover LRX, we thought we would try to help you keep all of the facts straight from all of the rumors.

The LRX will not be released until 2011, and by the time it hits showrooms it may not even be called the LRX anymore. This 2-door sporty crossover is based heavily off of the Land Rover LR2, so if you’re already a fan of this 4-door, the LRX could be right up your alley. It will have a sleek, stylish look with a modern twist that’s sure to turn some heads on the open road.

The new Chicago Land Rover is expected to come equipped with the same engine on the LR2- a V6, 3.2 liter AWD with a Terrain Response System (TRS) (because no matter how pretty this one is going to be, let’s face it: it’s still going to be as tough as all Land Rovers before it). And while this engine will come standard, there have been talks about a hybrid following the release. This would come with a diesel or electric powertrain. Though not many details have been released on the hybrid model, it would be a great addition to the lineup for those buyers looking for something a little more economical.

The inside of Chicago Land Rover LRX will be just as great as the rest of it. Equipped with features such as dual touch screen displays, removable and power adjustable speakers, and electronic instrumentation, the LRX will be sure to draw your attention from the outside, but you won’t want to leave the interior.

If you just can’t wait to get behind the wheel of one of these, they are expected to be in final production and ready for test drives by late 2010, so be prepared. Talk to your local Chicago Land Rover dealer to find out more about release dates, and we’ll continue to be here to keep you updated and sifting through the rumors that this highly anticipated LRX has already caused.

After years of model upgrades, the Chicago Land Rover LR3 appears to have struck a chord with the consumer. Readily welcoming aggressive off-road dirt onto its frame, the Chicago LR3 is just as comfortable dressing up for a night on the town. Handling much better on paved roads and in daily driving than the previous-generation, the new Chicago LR3 sacrifices nothing in off-road capability – always eager to tackle trails, mountain roads, and freeways.

The driver seat rests high above what would be found in the average car, insulating the driver from outside distractions and movement. Improvements in steering provide firm and responsive handling while gripping the off-roader’s thick steering wheel. The Chicago Land Rover LR3 can be utilized as an effective tow vehicle for a heavy boat, full-size camper, or just about anything else that keeps the outdoors life comfortable.

It is worth noting that braking is extraordinary, both in expressions of overall feel and sheer stopping force. The pedal is innovative, with no vibration slipping in to affect the drive, and it always feels like there is more stopping power should it be required. The brakes themselves are large 13.3-inch discs in front and 13.8-inch discs at the rear, with four-channel ABS. In addition, the anti-lock brake system is designed to work off road.

Working to enhance driver control off-road in rugged terrains are two brake-based systems, all-terrain Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and Hill Descent Control (HDC), used to restrict downhill speeds on steep, slippery grades, and is adjustable through the steering wheel cruise-control buttons; both working exceptionally well.

In the past, off-road driving schools have had to dedicate significant time explaining which lever to push in which direction to respond to life’s various surfaces and obstacles. The Chicago Land Rover LR3 eliminates this step with its inventive Terrain Response System. Switch the console-mounted dial to the icon for Grass/Gravel/Snow, Mud/Ruts, Sand, or Rock/Crawl, and the vehicle automatically adjusts as appropriate. In the adjustable suspension’s Off Road mode, ground clearance raises from the normal 7.3 inches to 9.5 inches. Engineering details, such as a larger oil sump to cope with acute angles of operation, demonstrate the scope the Land Rover LR3 Chicago is prepared for the unpaved world.

Test drive one at a Land Rover dealer in Chicago, and you’ll find the LR3 offers responsive off-road capability with on-road luxury. It may be the complete vehicle for those who need a comfortable daily driver that desire to go anywhere any four-wheel vehicle might go.

Automakers that hope to continue doing business over the next few years need to be increasingly aware of their fuel consumption, emissions and environmental credibility. In respect to these realities, Auto Express in the U.K. is reporting that Land Rover is moving forward with plans to launch the new LRX compact hybrid ‘ute, with potentially a bit of help from the U.K. government.

Locally, Chicago Land Rover dealership personnel are excited about the fact that Land Rover is moving forward to make sure its future lineup is as green as the badge on their 4WDs. Last year Land Rover hinted at the Detroit Auto Show the possibility of a new small vehicle with the LRX Concept, which ended up winning the Concept Truck of the Year award and sent every auto journalist into frenzy, under what has developed as its Range Rover sub-brand.

The British government is reported to be so enamored with the idea that they’re ready to throw £27 million ($44,422,507.41 dollars) at Land Rover to develop the automobile, merely scratching the surface of the estimated £400 million ($658,111,220.80 dollars) development cost.

Land Rover hopes to develop this new product soon. In what has been dubbed by Land Rover as the brand’s “smallest, lightest, and most efficient Range Rover” ever built, the LRX-themed model may potentially end up integrating a gasoline-electric hybrid power train (if not the 2.0 liter turbo diesel hybrid found in the concept).

What has been confirmed is that the LRX concept will incorporate an Electric Rear Axle Drive (ERAD) hybrid drive train with regenerative braking capabilities; in essence a smart drive train that takes measures, by putting electric power to the front, altering left-right torque bias, and even detaching itself from the driveshaft, in an effort to maximize traction and efficiency.

Often times for Chicago Land Rover buyers, the more technology included into the automobile, the better. With this in mind, the ERAD has been mated to Land Rover’s acclaimed Terrain Response system, putting power on the ground as often as possible, offering Hill Descent Control and an integrated Eco mode for city cruising. If the entire setup, in this situation the ERAD and the rest, can be bundled in a manner so as not to obstruct storage space, it could sell well enough to assist Land Rover reach its goal cutting fuel consumption and emissions by 20%.

Besides its start/stop system, which drivers may currently find on certain Freelander/LR2s, Land Rover will borrow generously from corporate partner Jaguar’s hardware stable, which has been said to be developing their own extended-range and hybrid vehicles. In the meantime, the British-built automaker is set to debut stop/start and regenerative braking on all of its models, in hopes of improving their environmental performance. .
