After several years of planning, Land Rover will finally launch a hybrid model. According to reports, the new Chicago Land Rover will be for sale in early 2011, with a debut model coming June 2010. How fitting, since Land Rover has it’s 40th birthday next summer!
Land Rover is developing a “parallel Hybrid system” that is similar to the system Toyota has in it’s Prius. A battery pack will hold the charge (most likely a lithium ion battery commonly used in hybrids) and there is a plug so the SUV can charge while it’s in park.
